Believe in Yourself
Believe in Yourself There may be days when you get up in the morning and things arent the way you had hoped they would be.Thats when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.Keep Believing in Yourself!

Missouri V. Mcneely ( 2013 ) - 1610 Words
Missouri v. McNeely(2013) was a case decided by the US Supreme Court on an appeal from the Supreme Court in Missouri, regarding exceptions to the Fourth Amendment under exigent circumstances. On October 3, 2010, Tyler Gabriel McNeely was stopped by a police officer in Missouri for speeding and crossing over a centerline. The police officer asked McNeely if he could take a breath test to measure his blood alcohol level because he had noticed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol. After refusing to take the breath test, McNeely was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital so they could do a blood test. McNeely refused, but the officer still told a lab technician to take his blood. His blood alcohol level tested far above the legal limit, and he was later charged with driving under the influence. He later argued that the taking of his blood without consent violated his Fourth Amendment rights in which the court agreed. I found this cas e interesting because we see a lot of drunk driving today and it s an uneasy feeling knowing that drunk drivers could possibly get away with the crime they are committing since it may take a while for an officer to get a warrant. I would like to see the stages that the Supreme Court went through to get to the decision they came up with. The Secret At The Antique Store - 1149 Words
The Secret at the Antique Store My grandfather had been working in his old antique shop since before he and my grandmother got married. He had tons of antiques from I don t even know what age. When I was about to close the shop for the day, I noticed the old box in the corner. One of its drawers was open. I went to close it and remembered seeing it before, when I was five or six. As I got older, I had thought somebody must of bought it and forgotten about it. Curiousity overtook me. The box had a unique design of swirls and circles. It also included gears inside the top drawer. It was fascinating. I closed the drawers and finished closing down shop. My plans for the next day were on my mind. Th e next morning, I woke up to the bright sun peeking through my curtains. Immediately, I got dressed and headed for the shop, eager to get there. As I walked to the front door, it was locked. I thought my grandfather would ve been there already. Instantly, I knew where he was. The word hospital flooded my mind. Effects Of Overpopulation On The Planet s Ecosystems
Advancements in science such as medications and vaccines have caused birth rates to surpass mortality rates resulting in overpopulation. According to Population Paradox, an academic article by Mairi Macleod, an evolutionary biologist,ââ¬Å"It took until 1800 for our numbers to reach 1 billion. Now the human population exceeds 7 billion and is set to reach 10 billion by 2085â⬠(Macleod). Overpopulation is having detrimental effects on the planet s ecosystems, which was discussed in the provided stimulus, The Struggle To Govern The Commons by Thomas Dietz. It stated that ââ¬Å"In the absence of effective governance...the environment is in peril from increasing human population, consumption, and deployment of advanced technologiesâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (Dietz). Afterâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦David Cutler who works for the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies wrote an academic journal titled, The Determinants of Mortality, which stated that ââ¬Å"Life expectancy at birth for our hunterââ¬âgatherer ancestors was perhaps 25 years...mortality rates began to drop in many different developed countries such as the Unites States where life expectancy at birth has risen from 47 years in 1900 to 78 years todayâ⬠(Cutler). Although this only shows an extreme growth in life expectancy in developed countries, life expectancy in less developed countries or LDCs has increased as well just not as rapidly due to medicine not being as readily available. Also, LDCs tend to have high birth rates which contribute to overpopulation. The tremendous rise in life expectancy in most countries is due to the decline in deaths from infectious diseases, becoming apparent due to innovations in medicines such as antibiotics and vaccines. Penicillin, for example, has decreased mortality rates from infections. According to a textbook titled Introduction to Pharmacology, by Mannfred Hollinger with a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Stanford Medical School, ââ¬Å"As the fir st antibiotic, penicillin lead the way to the treatment of microbial disease. Without penicillin, 75% of the people now alive would not be alive because their parents or grandparents would have died
